Why Should I Purchase Ruby Plus?
What is Ruby Plus?Ruby is a shareware MS-Windows application for cataloging your media collection such as CD-Rs, DVDs, USB drives, etc. This program will scan the users media and then catalog and save the file properties (name, directory, attributes, size, date, and a user chosen description) and the media properties (serial #, file system, volume label, # of files, total media size, and a user chosen description) onto a database. The user can then run a search for a particular file in the database rather than browse manually through all of the physical media. The program will also work with floppies, zip disks, and any other removable media.
Why is there a charge for the software?Ruby began as a program for personal use and I accepted donations as a means to further development. The program became popular and with that came increased server costs and increased development time, two very expensive items. The costs in keeping development going have far exceeded the donations that came in. With that in mind, I have chosen to continue development of the program. The basic program is still freeware and will fit the needs of most users. However, I have spent a substantial amount of time on
new features and these will be part of the registered version, which can be purchased through the official website.
Ruby Plus costs $18.95 USD. For your money, you receive:
