I just installed LANster after our school forced Phynd (http://www.phynd.net) a web based program with a similar function down. The network I am on has around 1000+ computers and a search can take a long time. What about saving the file names on other computers to a local database that LANster could then search and recompile every night or something. This would allow much faster searching and since the files are relativly static it would not yeild many false results. I dont know how feasible this is (although I have found it on one other program called sharescan)., and I still love the program

Well Ive discussed that before at http://www.warpengine.com/cgi-bin....2&t=32.
However, I have added the ability to save searches in an external list. You can load your list at your convenience.
