1. Search for directories as well as for files, with tree-like display of the results (showing the corresponding directory and all the subdirectories expanded - this could be done in a Windows Explorer fashion, with a + sign)
2. Alternative display of the database contents (tree-like, not excel-like).
All in all, I like your product. I think, however, that the interface could be better - but for this price I shouldn't complain
Thank you!

Well lets see...you can search within directories quite easily. It's in the options. Ive noticed that about 85% of the suggestions and complaints stem from people not realizing that there is already an option for a certain function. In this case go to Tools>Options>Search>Search Within These Database Fields. Almost everything is covered in the Help Content.
As far as the treeview I am planning to implement a view that is somewhat of a treeview in a future revision. That is going to take some time and at this point I dont think its critical. Ive been asked by several users for something like that so i am looking into it and will implement as soon as I get other stuff done.
I designed the interface to be as simple as possible without the overkill that most programs have. There is elegance in simplicity. I will however put most suggestions on my to do list.

Obviously, I've discovered that option for myself 5 minutes after posting I guess I'll need to be more careful in the future
I have another question: 100% of the time, after I update a description of an existing item in a database, Ruby crashes. It gives this message "The Update was successfull" after which a small window appear with "Run-time error '5': Invalide procedure call or argument". The modification of the database occurs, the description is there after I start Ruby again, but it's annoying to restart the program after each modification. I'm using Windows 2000. Could this be the reason of the problem? I haven't tested it yet on Windows 98, I'll do it asap.

Very nice and usefull software created. However, i wish that there is an option which can export the whole database to text format. So that i can mail it to my friends.

This option is already there but I forgot to talk about it in the Help content. You can print out either the Disc list or the Results list by going to File>Save -- List As> and then choose plain text or CSV.

ok, i tested out the funtion, but the results are rather messy in txt form. But i love to use Ruby. Thanks a lot for making it a freeware.
However, i wish that it can display the total file size for database in future versions. (beside ***discs****files in database)

Did you try the CSV format?
Not sure what you mean by "total file size for database". There is a function in File>Database Properties that gives you a summary of your database file.
cheers.

Sorry, what i mean is that the total file size is calculated for example 100 discs, will take 7.34567 GB. And displayed either beside "# of files" or/and beside "100discs in database" Something like a new column "Total size: 680.54mb" for that single ruby ID
I have tried the csv format, it looks the same, i think the problem lies on the disc description, some of mine contain quite a long sentence. So in the end everything is messed up.
Anyway, thanks

What would be the purpose of the total file size? Why would you need it?
